Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if I had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate,
To say that for destruction ice,
Is also great,
And would suffice.
~Robert Frost
Not even Robert Frost could have predicted how the world was going to end. His thoughts were in fire? In ice, maybe? Well, guess what? He hadn't even been close. No, the world perished with something that nobody, not even God, had seen coming. Human kind became endangered because of something much, much worse. War.
War between humans and some unseen force that we hadn't even known could exist. The ultimate race. Predators. Seemingly normal looking. As if they're human. But, oh, if you look close enough the differences are there. The swing of their hips, the looks in their red eyes. Of course, if you get close enough to look you will die where you stand. People- ordinary people, I should say- couldn't stand a chance against this super race. Predators are, in a word, indestructible. We have yet to find out a way to kill them.
So this is my call for help. I need you, the person sitting at your computer scrolling down the screen reading this seemingly usless novle; DO NOT STOP READING! Human kind is depending on you! I'm depending on you!
My name is Cameron O'Shea and I'm the last girl on earth, literally. Everyday could just as well be my last. Please, I need you're help. This is a record of my journey that could stop at any point. I'll keep you posted. Keep reading. Don't let go because I sure as hell am not! My day's are numbered and time is running out! Now this is how the world truley ends!

However, saying that mankind depends on the reader, then saying you're the only one left, doesn't particularly seem to work unless you've sent me this through a time warp.

"Ah, you wish you could fly?"
"Nah. Then the worm would actually be worth getting out of bed for."
